“CMB” Training Center is implementing the “Critical Thinking vs. current Educational Policies of the Primary Schools of Moldova” project under Small grants initiative.

Specific Objectives of the project:

  1. Conduct research/study and analyze the degree to which current Public Elementary School Standards, Learning Objectives and Curriculum include developing critical thinking skills of the Moldovan public elementary school students;
  2. Build awareness amongst key elementary education system players vs. stakeholder on the changes that need to be made in order to integrate critical thinking as one of the components of the Public Elementary School System.

Activities organized as of February 23, 2010:

1. The project team organized three one day workshops;

2. Mini-analyses/research was conducted on aspects related to:

- What is Critical Thinking and what makes a Critical Thinker?!

- What is the process of forming stereotypes in children of elementary school age;

- What is intuitive thinking and where/how it interrelates with Critical Thinking;

- What is the link between Critical Thinking and the demands of the Labour Market.

Mini-reports on each of the above components will be posted on this page shortly.

Currently, the project team is working on elaborating ToRs for instruments for evaluation of methodology/tasks, standards and indicators for the Project Study.
