4. Encyclopedia of Interactive Learning by Olena Pometun, Ukraine

The book you are holding could be of interest to all those concerned with the process of teaching: school teachers, university professors and instructors from in-service teacher training system because it deals with interactive learning technology. It will help you improve your knowledge of this issue and organize practical activities using the recommendations given.

Recently, this learning model has been rapidly gaining popularity among the educators of Ukraine. One can come across the description of interactive lessons in the pedagogical press, see them conducted in practice by the best teachers, observe them during trainings in the system of in-service teacher training. Theoretical foundations of interactive learning are the subject of active discussions. A certain contribution to the theory and practice of interactive learning was made by the first systematic publications on this issue in Ukraine – «Interactive Technologies: Theory, Practice, Experience» and «A Modern Lesson. Interactive Learning Technologies»[1]. However, today they have become somewhat obsolete because a new national experience of teaching within the paradigm of this model has been accumulated, its understanding and generalization have taken place. The purpose of this book is to highlight new concepts, approaches and methods of interactive learning. But the key objective of the book is to familiarize the readers with the entire spectrum of tested, highly efficient and interesting ways of teaching children and adults. «The Encyclopedia» contains over 100 of these.
